But experiments in my laboratory over the past decade have shown that this is not precisely the case. Time is an active construction of the brain. We can set up simple experiments to make you believe that a flashed image lasted longer or shorter than it actually did, or that a burst of light happened before you pressed a button (even though you actually caused it with the button), or that a sound is beeping at a faster or slower rate than it actually is, and so on.

When the wave functions of different particles get entangled their properties depend on each othe no matter how far apart

What is waving when a particle is behaving as a wave ? “Existence is waving” Particles are winking in & out of existence

When 2 particles interact they get entangled. Their properties depend on each other even when they are world’s apart

All physical structures are derived from atoms and are manifestations or actualization of forms of potentiality

Although particles appear randomly, they follow a distribution pattern. The wave function is an invisible guiding principle.

Poetic interlude “We come spinning out of nothingness scattering stars like dust” -Rumi

Schrodinger’s equation explains every atom in the periodic table of elements & its appearance from nothingness

Schrodinger’s equation is a mathematical formulation that accounts for the appearance of all atoms in the universe from nothingness

Schrodinger’s wave function equation describes the distribution map for a particle appearing in & out of existence from nothingness

Subatomic particles appear from the nothingness of space , exist, & disappear into the nothingness at lightening speed

Subatomic particles can travel along many paths simultaneously

Subatomic particles can be in more than one place at the same time

Subatomic particles can disappear & reappear in another location without existing in the intervening space

Waves of potentiality are trans-empirical , unobservable, but real as without them particles would not exist

Waves of potentiality , unlike particles, do not have physical units of mass or energy. They are numbers or ratios of numbers

When particles are left alone or not interfered with they spontaneously evolve into waves of potentiality

As particles quantum objects are material & in the empirical world (verified by observation/measurable) As waves they are not material

Quantum objects exist as particles /waves. As particles they have physical properties of mass & energy. As waves they are possibilities

Google Correlate is like Google Trends in reverse. With Google Trends, you type in a query and get back a series of its frequency (over time, or in each US state). With Google Correlate, you enter a data series (the target) and get back queries whose frequency follows a similar pattern. Try it out here - http://correlate.googlelabs.com/

I believe people want to find meaning from their feelings. One way to find meaning is through their name which speaks to whether their name, a data point, is associated and connects with the feelings of the user. This analysis was studied using the top 5 searched words being wanting to be defined using Google search.

IDEA - Why the top 5 most frequently defined words on Google may describe what we vision and how we feel

I was curious today - given that Google collectively has superintelligence, can its Google suggestion feature in search for words defined tell us what we see and how we may feel based on the collective wisdom of the world? As on May 3, 2011, the top five Google suggestion searches for finding a defined word was culture, love, ethics, irony and media.

I find that when I want to understand the world around me and inside me, I quantify those feelings into words I know or I may not know through searching words defined on Google. This allows me to truly understand what they mean so I may evaluate my feelings and thus vision of the world - the process of creating wisdom.

Exploring the meaning of the top 5 words

A definition is a statement of the exact meaning of a word. I have looked at how these 5 words may have meaning in the form of personal and societal feelings as a whole. If we search for meaning, we define feelings. If we define feelings, we speak to the world differently leading to personal traits such as happiness and love.

Culture, Love, Ethics, Irony, Media

Culture is “the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively” - this speaks out to the fact that our world is so interconnected these days that people want to understand what the various data points in their life mean externally. This speaks to our social life.

Love is “an intense feeling of deep affection” - this speaks out to how we feel internally and may be linked to our personal and social life.

Interesting how what exists outside of us, culture, “may” be more frequently sought after in terms of understanding than what exists inside ourselves. Many thought leaders I follow in the world like Deepak Chopra, Umair Haque and Don Tapscott have a passion and commitment with the inside (love) and outside world (culture) (ie. Don Tapscott is educated in Psychology, which speaks to a wisdom and understanding of love, as well as an author of a book called Macrowikinomics, which speaks to the wisdom and understanding of culture. Deepak and Umair are always discussing the distinction between the outside world and the inside world.

Ethics, to me, is a cross-section between culture and love (society and people). Its the difference between “motivations based on ideas of right and wrong”. It’s a balance that speaks out to what we see/feel externally and what we see/feel internally. I’m pretty sure Umair’s next book will be on ethics - he is passionate about aligning the inside with the outside ~ where things truly matter. However, ethics may be disrupting that balance.

Irony is “the expression of one’s meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect”. Given the many different people (culture) we are surrounded by offline and online these days along with how we truly feel (love), we may use the feelings of irony to describe ethical situations, to describe love in our personal life or to describe culture in social situations.

Lastly, media, which is “the main means of mass communication regarded collectively” pieces all these variables together. So when you blame the media, rethink your connectivity inside your world and assess how what you see everyday (culture), how you feel (love), and the cross section of the two (ethics) which maybe ironic may be the basis for one’s attitude towards understanding what media is.

Wikipedia

The medium is the message” is a phrase coined by Marshall McLuhan meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in the message, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.

Thus the components of the message (media) is perceived as follows collectivity based on one’s perception of culture+love+ethics+irony

Other notable top define words were globalization, integrity and leadership (in my mind, globalization speaks to culture, integrity speaks to ethics and leadership speaks to culture and love).

Now, go study every letter from a to z and see what kinda crazy idea you can come up with! “define a, define b, define c ….”

How can we expand on this formula? Is this formula flawed?
